Nairobi,Kenya – TECNO has unveiled the POVA Curve 2 5G in Kenya, introducing what it describes as the world’s slimmest smartphone to feature an 8,000mAh battery, as the company targets young professionals, entrepreneurs, content creators and gamers seeking long-lasting battery life without sacrificing design.
The smartphone, launched under TECNO’s “POVA, Own Your Move” campaign, combines a large battery with a 7.42mm curved body weighing approximately 195 grams. According to the company, the device is designed for users who require extended power for work, business and entertainment while maintaining a premium look and feel.
Speaking during the launch, TECNO Kenya Marketing Manager Mildred Agoya said the company developed the device to meet the needs of young Kenyans balancing multiple opportunities in an increasingly digital economy.
“Across Kenya, young people are building businesses, growing careers, creating brands and moving between multiple opportunities every day. Their smartphones must be able to keep up without forcing them to choose between power, design and personal identity,” she said.
The POVA Curve 2 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor and comes with 12GB of RAM alongside 256GB of internal storage. Buyers will also receive 256GB of TECNO Cloud storage for three years, providing additional space for documents, photos and other digital content.
TECNO says the handset has been optimized for users who spend long hours away from charging points, making it suitable for professionals working remotely, business owners, travellers and creators who rely heavily on their smartphones throughout the day.
The device also features G1 and SE1 Dual Enhanced Signal Chipsets, which the company says improve network performance in areas with weak reception such as lifts, office buildings and crowded spaces. It supports both 5G connectivity and eSIM technology, while security features include Face Unlock and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
To enhance customer confidence, TECNO is offering a 180-day broken screen warranty alongside a 12+1 month device warranty.
Agoya said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to delivering technology that balances performance, design and reliability for Kenyan consumers.
